Ok
Most of the time I just post stuff in here because I’m thinking about it at the time, and writing out my thoughts helps me to stay focused.
The way I figure, people will either “get it” or they won’t ……..I can only hope that they do. If something I happen to write makes them think for a couple of minutes….at least long enough to get past whatever is going on in THIS particular moment?…well hey….that’s great. I love seeing people beat this addiction.
I KNOW what it could mean NOT to.
Anyway…….just a little something to think about if you’re struggling because this is something I think about myself sometimes.
Be honest with yourself
Have you been sitting on your computer for hours and hours (and hours) fighting with those craves and feeling like you just can’t make the next minute?
Well……..have you paying attention to what people are telling you in here about getting up and getting some exercise?…………or reading a book?……….or soaking in a tub?……………or doing some spring cleaning?………..etc….etc….etc.?
Or have you been sitting around doing nothing BUT concentrating on how much you hate the side affects of quitting?
Well you know……….that COULD be (at least a PART) of the reason they seem so overwhelming to you.
This isn’t just about quitting smoking you know………….its about taking control of YOUR life…….it’s about WORKING to make it better.
I can’t imagine anything harder than spending the whole day focused on nothing but cravings.
This is just one of those take it or leave it suggestions but you know what?
If you REALLY want to WIN this battle then do yourself a favour and put some real effort into the thing that you’re fighting for in the first place.
YOUR life.
It requires balance.
And you’ll find that’s MUCH easier to accomplish if you’re willing to be honest with yourself about how much time you’re spending missing something you’ve chosen to give up.
AND how much time you’re spending ENJOYING what that choice is bringing you.
You only get one life you know.
It’s goes by pretty quickly.
Are you going to live it or WISH that you had?

Good morning everybuddy and a Happy Easter to you!!!
Up and going for the day, but had a phone call from my son in Germany so I am late getting here. I am here to pledge and run as I am off to get my nails done. Smoking - saying NO to that and moving forward along the Freedom Road. I hold my hand out to the next winner joining me kicking ash to the curb today.
Have a great day

Repost: Slipped? Leave the City of Regret!
Excellent repost! Slipping is not required (let’s not even use the word slip – call it what it is a relapse - you can quit and keep it (not that I did, but I wish I had). Learn from your mistakes, pick up and move on and get it done.

I had not really planned on taking a trip this time of year, and yet I found myself packing rather hurriedly. This trip was going to be unpleasant and I knew in advance that no real good would come of it. I'm talking about my annual "Guilt Trip."
I got tickets to fly there on Wish I Had airlines. It was an extremely short flight. I got my baggage, which I could not check. I chose to carry it myself all the way. It was weighted down with a thousand memories of what might have been. No one greeted me as I entered the terminal to the Regret City International Airport. I say international because people from all over the world come to this dismal town.
As I checked into the Last Resort Hotel, I noticed that they would be hosting the year's most important event, the Annual Pity Party. I wasn't going to miss that great social occasion. Many of the towns leading citizens would be there.
First, there would be the Done family, you know, Should Have, Would Have and Could Have. Then came the I Had family. You probably know ol' Wish and his clan. Of course, the Opportunities would be present, Missed and Lost. The biggest family would be the Yesterday's. There are far too many of them to count, but each one would have a very sad story to share.
Then Shattered Dreams would surely make an appearance. And It's Their Fault would regale us with stories (excuses) about how things had failed in his life, and each story would be loudly applauded by Don't Blame Me and I Couldn't Help It.
Well, to make a long story short, I went to this depressing party knowing that there would be no real benefit in doing so. And, as usual, I became very depressed. But as I thought about all of the stories of failures brought back from the past, it occurred to me that all of this trip and subsequent "pity party" could be canceled by ME! I started to truly realize that I did not have to be there. I didn't have to be depressed.
One thing kept going through my mind, I CAN'T CHANGE YESTERDAY, BUT I DO HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE TODAY A WONDERFUL DAY. I can be happy, joyous, fulfilled, encouraged, as well as encouraging. Knowing this, I left the City of Regret immediately and left no forwarding address. Am I sorry for mistakes I've made in the past? YES! But there is no physical way to undo them.
So, if you're planning a trip back to the City of Regret, please cancel all your reservations now. Instead, take a trip to a place called, Starting Again. I liked it so much that I have now taken up permanent residence there. My neighbors, the I Forgive Myself and the New Starts are so very helpful. By the way, you don't have to carry around heavy baggage, because the load is lifted from your shoulders upon arrival. GOD BLESS you in finding this great place. If you can find it -- it's in your own heart -- please look me up. I live on I Can Do It Street.

How does a cig free Saturday sound?? Let’s do it!!
Good morning. It's 6:48am. Guess who forgot to do their post this morning. Yep, it was me! Going to say my first NOPE for the day and get it off to a great start
For the first time this season I have put on a pair of shorts. It's going to be 84° and sunny. Hoping to get some outside time today after the other tasks

The picture. It's a barn door that my son in law installed for me. We have all had the one place that just annoys the dickens out of you. This was mine. What is behind that door is the bathroom in the master. Hated seeing the sinks and vanity. Reminded me of a old hotel. Felt so very public for a private space. So this is what he came up with! Think it looks great! Today's task is to paint the door and finish it off.
Well time to get busy. Things to do. Y'all have a fantastic Saturday and above all please be nice be kind today.
